No. They do not allow you to bring any alcohol on the boat. They do have a wine list on the NCL website. It is about the same, maybe a little less, then what you would pay for it in a restaurant.

i haven't read much about alcohol on NCL compared to other cruise lines...are they really strict about carrying alcohol and wine on board?

NCl screens all bags and will hold those that they feel contain Booze. You will have to claim you bags in a conference room. They will return it at the end of the cruise. FYI they don't get 100%.

Effective Nov 1 you can bring special wine if it is not available on their winelist. You will be asked to pay a $10 corkage fee.

NCL Winelist is online @

I've had no problems with bring my own wine onto two NCL cruises, a Med cruise on the Dream in 11/01 and Hawaii on the Star in 9/03. I do remember reading before my last cruise that they were more strict on cruises out of Miami. It wouldn't surprise me if the confinscated liquoir, but if you're bringing fine wine that isn't on the wine list I doubt you'll have a problem. If you do, talk to the wine steward or to a maiter'd.

Change in policy? I'd still give it a try. Worst case, you have to bring it home. If it gets snagged, I'd talk to the wine steward or a maiter'd in one of the restaurants. A nice tip would probably help.
