Appropriate footwear question

Greetings!
My wife and I are going on our first cruise on Mar/26 with the NCL Sun. We are aware of the 'appropriate' attire for dining rooms and restaurants on board, but I am wondering if sandals are considered appropriate footwear in these places? I have not found any direction with respect to this issue.

I think women's sandals are appropriate for women in the dining room (that is what I wore and had no problems). For men I don't know. My dh just wore his running shoes.

Hi,
My husband did wear brown leather sandals with dockers to the dining room with no problems. I think sandals would be just fine.
