My husband and I are traveling on the Sea in July, and we didn't purchase the vacation insurance. I've been reading on some of the other message boards, and everyone seems to be recommending vacation insurance. I'm also a LITTLE nervous because we're scheduled to fly in on the day of the cruise rather than the day before.
I understand that it's cheaper to get insurance independantly, rather than through the cruiseline, but I was wondering what experiences you guys had with purchasing trip insurance.. whether you bought it through the cruiseline or independantly, and why? AND if you had to make a claim under the policy, did it work well or did you have problems?
If you didn't already purchase through your agent which you obviously haven't go to the net and you will find several companies selling travel insurence. You can compare and decide what is best for you. yes, do take it out. For years we took our chances, not anymore. We were lucky and most times you will not need it but all you have to do is find a couple situations where someone has lost their entire investment to appreciate the importance of it. there was a time when the cruise lines would bend a little if a family had an emergancy; maybe they would give a partial credit for another cruise or something like that. No more, no insurance: oh well. NMNita
