Default Norwegian Star: Azipod Problem

Norwegian Star had to skip Glacier Bay on it's 7/31 to 8/7 cruise because of a problem with one of its Azipod engines and was not granted access to Glacier Bay. As of this time it is not known if the problem is fixed or when it will be.

Cruisers were awarded a $200 per cabin shipboard credit.

I sure hope it does get fixed. It was the main reason I booked the Norwegian Star out of Seattle. If it isn't fixed fixed, I will get to see Sitka one more time.

Take care,
Mike

The Norwegian Star provided $200 dollars per cabin..not cruiser. Yes, it was disappointing...however, I didn't want this incident to destroy the wonderful experience we had.......if it is the main reason to book this trip to see Glacier Bay...then make sure you get to see it. We went to Mendenhall Glacier which was Awesome...consider the excursions of the ship..and plan them well....some excursions can be purchased cheaper at port of call

Joyce,
You are correct. It is per cabin. I have edited my original post to correct my error. Also, thanks for the other information you provided me.

Thank you,
Mike

Yes, it appears it is fixed. I don't think I will be telling my in-laws about the problem until next Friday, after the Star makes it's second successful pass through Glacier Bay.

I am very glad that the problem was repaired and that the cruisers were able to see it. I also saw on the web cam that they had pretty good weather.

Take care,
Mike
