Has anyone stayed in the Penthouse suites on the Dawn? We are booked in this category for late August. It states butler service is included. What was the role of the butler? Someone told me that they will get you the best seats in restaurants and shows and will reserve chairs poolside. Can anyone share their experiences? We were on the Dawn in May in a mini-suite and conceirge service was available, but never saw the person.
Has anyone stayed in a suite on the very front of the ship? What was the movement and wind like (too windy to sit on the balcony)?
The butler attends to your cabin 'needs'. (S)he will serve you breakfast (not just room service, the full treatment, table cloth, flowers, etc); bring you snacks; arrange for a cocktail party/hors d'oevre etc. Really spoil you! The 9th floor bow butler is Denny from the Philippines - a really nice person. The 10th floor bow used to be Corinne but I believe she got married and left the ship about a week or 2 ago.
The concierge will make reservations in the restaurants, shore toors, get you priority tenders and the like. He does reserved seating for the Owner's Sute and the Villas, I don't believe that other PH suites get this service. Not surprisingly, the level of attention from the Concierge who has many suites to tend to varies depending on the level of the suite you have and the demands on his time from all of the suites.
The concierge is Alex; he is great, wonderful sense of humor; from Australia.
PS nobody saves you pool seats regardless of your level - well, except if you are in a Villa, then you have your own! (hot tub that is).
Bow cabins are great; we found them not to windy at all, which surprised us, even on sea days. But we had great summer weather, not sure the same would be true later in the year or on stormy days. (In fact in really rough weather there are metal doors you would have to close. Read up on the Wave!)
