I just booked a cruise on NCL Spirit to the Caribbean. However, I haven’t found much information on this ship. Has anyone sailed on the NCL Spirit and can they give me some feedback?
Heather, my boss loved the ship, even the decor, which some do not. I would suggest you go to NCLs website; that will get you started, then just keep reading the reviews and remarks from those on this and other boards. Remember reviews, whether positive or negative do need to be taken with a grain of salt as each of us has our own ideas. some will take a major nightmere and say it was just a little bump in the road, others will take that bump and it will be preceived as the worst possible nightmere by the time they get around to reporting. this does not mean what one experiences isn't real, it is just the way we look at things. Sometimes imaginations start running away. Do enjoy your cruise, we leave tomorrow for a week in Europe and then our cruise back on the new Jewel.
I have been on the Spirit twice this year. It will dock in San Franscico next month, so by the time you go on it, it will be a lot different. There will be more shops and the hull will be painted.
I am sailing on this ship on the 18th december from new York. I have sailed on the Celebrity Millenium and I know that this ship is not as classy as the Millenium but I also do know from other peoples comments that it is a nice ship and has friendly staff.
Sailed the Spirit this summer. I found it very nice and a very nice crew. The history of the ship is interesting. It was a gambling ship. From what one of the crew told me it had 7 casinos on board.
Hope you enjoy, I am curious to see what it is like after drydock.
Heather,
I know that you're going to have a great experience on the Spirit. We went on our first cruise this past May so we don't have much to compare to the Spirit. I do find it hard to believe that there could be another ship to top our Alaskan voyage. Neither one of us could really come up with a single complaint and we were both skeptical going into this. The penthouse(#10522) we had may have helped but the crew was fantastic. We thought the ship was beautiful, especially with the Asian influence. It's interesting reading about the history of the vessel formerly known as the Superstar Leo. You should do a little digging of your own! There's tons of information out there. Folks that didn't care for the Spirit must have been spoiled beyond my imagination!
Hi,
Whatever she WAS like, she'll be different upon emerging from a very long drydock 24th October; she's been there since 26th September !!!
For one thing, I don't think there will be one spot on that ship not painted over; I suspect not an inch of old carpeting will be left; bedding and linen will undoubtedly be brand new; her innards mechanical might not be changed but surely will be renovated in a '' as brand new'' shape. The outside hull artwork will be brought up to current '' NCL ''standards. Another post referred to brand new shops. I know the casino hardware was contracted to be 100% changed over.
People who paid attention to her furnishings before the drydock might not find one single piece left.
In other words: you'll be sailing on a '' near brand new'' build.
Happy sailings

Was on the Spirit X-Mas 04, It was great. The food was fantastic and the entertainment was super. The service and organization was wonderful. The ship itself, the once Superstar Leo, is very interesting. Do not miss th bridge observation area accessed from stairs in the top lounge. Our only criticism was that the casino was a bit small for a ship of that size.
We've been on 14 cruises and a 15th is booked. We thought the Spirit was in our top two of our cruises. Go and enjoy!!!

I don't know if I would say the ship isn't as classy as the M ships. I haven't been on the Spirit, but have been on the Sun and the Jewel. We loved our Constilation experience 2 years ago, would sail her again in a second and love Celebrity, but we found the cabins almost identical. Both the Sun and the Connie we choose balcony cabins. They were exactly the same sq footage with Connie having slightly better bathrooms but we liked the balconies on the Sun better. Of course traditional dining does offer a little for formal experience that freestyle, but we found the staff similar. In both cases they were very friendly with the exception of the activity staff on the Connie. A couple of them boardered on being rude. Many were complaining. Rather than say Celebrity is a little classier I think I would say a little more subdued. Others will differ I am sure: I just thought I would throw this in as you may be surprised. NMNita
