Thanks, Peter, for the message.
We'd all be grateful if you could keep us posted, preferrably with good news.
However, being grownup, we can take it if the news isn't good.
Come broken Azipod or high water, we are leaving Wednesday for Dover.
Let's see, at 3 knots it will take only about a month. What, me worry? Since I just retired today and have no job to come back to, nah.

Juergen

I hope we still get the chance to lean over the balconies and say hi neighbor.

I hope for everyone's sake that either this news "isn't" true or that the problem is fixed rapidly. I've got friends flying to London tomorrow that will be very disappointed if they don't get to make the Transatlantic voyage on the JEWEL (along with all the other people who've booked this 9/4 event. I guess this is one of the reasons that there are these "shake-down" cruises before the ships "officially" enter service.

Didn't the DAWN have an azipod problem early in her sailings? Does anyone know how long it takes to get it fixed.

If anyone gets stuck in England for a night or two don't forget about using Priceline for a room if need be, according to biddingfortravel.com tons of people have won the Thistle Marble Arch for as low as $ 56/nt up to $75/nt..

hi people,
the captain has anounced that the problem with the pod has been fixed and all is well
however we have arrived in tallin 5 hours late with help from tugs so it seems the
problem may not be fixed. we will depart from tallin at 6pm gmt this is 3 hours later than planned.
we will post more information as we know.

Jim -
I hope so too.
As long as she doen't leave Dover early, we'll be alright.
A slow day at sea is still better than a good day at the office, if I remember correctly.

The Jewel departed tallinn and seems to be making speed. I was able to track the ship on AISLive.

Yes, Jim, I see her too, at very roughly 58N and 20E.
Arrival at Warnemuende (Berlin) Thursday morning should be a piece of cake.
She'll have slightly more than 24 hours to do it.
Here's hoping.
