I am thinking of renting a vehicle during our 7 day cruise of Hawaii islands. My parents are going and they are in their late 70's to early 80's. Also, anyone have suggestion on excursions we might be interested in?
I have found that a car rental is the best way to see the islands. All major rental agencies provide shuttle service to and from the piers however I would check when you make your reservations because a few of them are located at the airport: I.E. Kauai.
Some things not to miss: Road to Hana on Maui: Waimea Canyon on Kauai. A helicopter trip if your parents are up to that. A luau is also something that would be of great interest. Also a trip to Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial is something that is something I won't ever forget.
The Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu can be a great way to spend a day and learn about the Polynesian culture.
