Our family of 6 including 2 teenage boys is booked on the NCL Dawn 5/27/06. Since this is our family's first cruise and it's quite an investment I want to make sure everyone will have a great time. Can anyone speak to activities for teenagers on the Dawn? There is very little info available on the website other than there is a teen disco. Are there organized activities for teens? Are the pools and waterslides mainly for smaller children? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
We were on the Dawn that left during the blizzard on 2/12 and went to the Western Carribbean (11 days). We had three kids one boy 15, two girls 13 and 11. They had plenty to do without even going to the disco. They enjoyed the shows at night and most especially the bingo.
Have a great time I think it is time for me and Cruisin Louise to book another one - I mean we have been home over a week now
I took 2 teenagers on the Dream (16 & 19). The 16-yr-old checked out the teen group the first night and wasn't interested. Too many "younger" teenagers and he's not a big disco fan. They were both happy doing their own thing on board and had a great time. The shows at night were great and exposed them to types of entertainment they hadn't experienced before (cabaret, show band, etc). I did see a lot of underaged drinking, but I think that is lack of parental supervision.
On the ship they have a scavanger hunt(which they will think is uncool),but they will see more of the ship and get a look at the operations of the ship. If going to Port Canaveral the trip to the space center will blow their minds( and yours). All in all, when we went last year, the teen-agers had a good time and want to do it again!!
