Hi Kinid,

We haven't sailed on the Dawn, but did sail on the Sun last year.

If you're talking about the "free" dining options, we never had any problem being seated almost immediately.

If you're talking about the specialty (pay) restaurants it's highly recommended that you make reservations for the night(s) you want as soon as you board the ship.

Have a wonderful cruise!

i sailed the dawn about 1 year ago. We couldn't get into the steakhouse. that was the most popular specialty. we would have been able to get into bistro at off hours. the asian restaurant was easy getting seats in since it is bigger than others.

the regular restaurants were pretty easy to get seats in except for lobster night where we had to wait an hour.

but relax, you are on vacation

If you intend on eating in the specialty restaurants may I suggest you make reservations as soon as you board. You can call from your cabin. As for main dining rooms, blue Lagoon, etc there really shouldn't be any major wait. The days of Freestyle and Kaos are long gone. If there are 5 of you and you would like to eat between 6:45 and 7:30 there may be some wait, but still not an hour or more. Lobster night it is a good idea to try for an early dining time, like maybe 6:00 to 6:30pm. Hope this helps some, NMnita
