Does anyone know if we can bring our own bottled water? We are sailing out on 6/24/06 on our Honeymoon. :-)

Default Water is OK...

In most cases water is not an issue...

We normally take some with us when we first board and then re-stock at the ports as needed...

Have fun...

NCL to move Norwegian Spirit to New Orleans in Nov. 2007

Norwegian Cruise Line said the Norwegian Spirit will homeport in New Orleans from November 2007 to April 2008, sailing a western Caribbean itinerary with calls in Belize City, Belize; Santo Tomas, Guatemala; and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

NCL CEO Colin Veitch said that in addition to being the first cruise line back in New Orleans this fall with the Norwegian Sun, “our commitment to this historic and beautiful city continues in 2007.?

“We are thrilled with the commitment that NCL has shown our city and that the company will return in 2007 with Norwegian Spirit,? said Gary LaGrange, president and CEO of the Port of New Orleans, adding that the cruise industry has generated $226 million in direct and indirect sales annually to the local economy, and that “NCL is a vital part of that success.?

After a summer deployment out of New York, the Norwegian Spirit will reposition in New Orleans on Nov. 18, replacing the Norwegian Sun, which will move to Hawaii for the winter.

The Spirit’s New York summer season alternates an 8-day trip to Bermuda; St. Thomas, the U.S. Virgin Islands; and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, with a 6-day sailing to Port Canaveral, Fla., and Nassau, and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas.

The New Orleans itineraries will be on sale in the next few weeks.

In other news, NCL said that starting in November 2007, its newest vessel, the Norwegian Gem, will homeport in New York for a series of seven-day Florida-Bahamas cruises and four 10- and 11-day cruises to the southern Caribbean in the winter and seven-day cruises to Bermuda and the Bahamas in the summer.

Also in November 2007, the Norwegian Dawn will move to Miami and sail seven-day eastern Caribbean cruises for the winter.

Now, the next question? Is the Dream going to stay in Houston or be sold, transferred or what? Only time will tell.

Hi Nita -- I thought I read that the Dream was going to take over the Crown's South American route in the winter, since the Crown has been sold. If so, does that mean that NCL is pulling out of Houston???

senior moment, you are right, but I am sad to see them pull out of Houston. This has been a no win situation for them for many years. They started sailing out of Houston on a ship named the Star, mind you, but not the Star we know about 9 years ago. They were and still are the only line sailing out of Houston. The old "Star" had zillions of problems, we sailed her about 8 plus years ago, were lucky, she didn't break down or anything and we actually had a wonderful cruise, although the weather could have been better. Anyway about a year later Galveston became a embarkation port and only Celebrity sailed out of there. The
Star went on it's merry way and the Sea took over. Eventually the Sea also left Houston. At one time, Houston was to build a really awesome embarkation port that would attract other lines. Galveston did that, Houston did nothing; the Sea left only to return about 4 years ago. Of course we know the rest of the story................for those who do not know NCL introduced us to Roatan just to have RCI steal the port from us. NMNIta
