Default PORTS VS. SEA

Which cruise lines offers more days at sea? I like being at sea more often.

I voted for more days in port cause that is what DH loves: I would like to do 2 cruises a year: one port intensive and one with 1/2 the time at sea. I loved the transatlantic cruise last fall, DH did also, but he was pretty antsie after 4 days at sea; I just kept company with the slot machines.

BigE That sounds like the perfect cruise. ! We did a transatlantic last year with
5 straight sea days and 8 overall and it was GREAT.

AT LEAST 60% OF CRUISERS I SPEAK TO WANT MORE SEA TIME AND FEWER PORTS. IN HAWAII IS THE ONE EXCEPTION IT IS NICE TO ISLAND HOP IN A SHIP.THE CRUISE LINES NEED TO OFFER MORE SINGLE PORT CRUISES

I would like to have more sea days, but only one port? I am not going on a cruise for just one port.

Close to my ideal would have to have been what we had last Sept: Sun: left Dover

MOn: Ireland

Tues: sea

Wed: Iceland

Turs and Friday: at sea

Sat: New Finland

Sun and Mon: at sea

Tues: Rhode Island

Wed:NYCity

Only problem we couldn't get into New Finland; wind and fog.

Try Bermuda. It is an awesome cruise. The ship is your floating hotel. With NCL you have the dine ashore program, where you can experience a Bermuda restaurant as part of the meals.

We love cruising because we want to explorer the world and visit alot of countries and places. A seaday can be very relaxing, but more than 2 seadays is just too boring for us. In 2 weeks we're sailing at the Galaxy 11 days with 3 seadays. That's ideal, a good mix of a lot of ports and a couple of seadays.

I didn't see a button for an even mix of port/sea days so I voted more port days. Though, 2-3 port days in a row can wear you out (especially if you have to wake up a toddler every morning who's not a morning person at all!) Here is my Ideal cruise:

Sun- depart
Mon- port
Tue- sea
wed- port
thurs- sea
fri- port
sat-sea
sun- Sorry, they arent allowing us to return to the home port due to whatever.....we are just going to have to repeat the cruise!

More sea days please.............for us, the ship is really the destination and the ports are an added bonus.

We've been on cruises that are so port intensive that you need a vacation after your vacation! There have been several cruises lately that, unless it was a new port for us or we had booked a private excursion (we love sailing!) that we never got off of the ship.

On port days, the ship is like your own private yacht........very few people and great SPA specials. Some ports, DH will have booked a scuba trip and I book a spa day - that's why cruising is so great, something for everyone!

More seadays make the cruise much longer, at least it feels longer! A day in port just disappear, the time really flies then!

We have had four seadays on our NCL-cruises so far but we´ll have six seadays on our transatlantic cruise next year. (Nita, it´s probably the same cruise you mentioned so I´ll most likely have questions for you later!)
