Default Spring Break

I will be going on a cruise with my kids (ages 16 and 18) during spring Break and I was wondering if many teens cruise during this time since it is the school year. If you have cruised during spring break let me know.

There will be so many many kids during spring break. Actually, people take their kids out of school all during the year for cruises. I've booked during times when I figured there would be very few kids, but sure enough there were hundreds. I also believe it depends on the cruise line you book with.

As "old people" we NEVER cruise during Spring Break! There will be plenty of other kids on your cruise!

I have discovered that "spring break" is different for everyone. Some have a week off before Easter and some have the week after off. Just depends. We are cruising on April 12th for 11 days and that is after Easter...some tell me that my cruise price went up because it's a popular week due to Easter. So I guess us 50 somethings will be hanging out with the kids. I hate when they hog the hot tubs though.

Unlike many cruise lines NCL does not get over run with teens during spring break. However they do have a great teen club for the teens that are there. My son enjoyed it last spring break and will attend this coming one - he also is 16 The first night he was reluctant to attend but filled out all the paper work. The next night he went to an activity just to see and was hooked. You MUST give him a curfew!!! Once the cruise sponsored activities are over the teens are expected to find their own way to their cabins. I can not begin to tell you how many parents are going crazy at 3 in the morning thinking their teenager has gotten lost or fallen overboard when instead they were socializing.

I'm 16, and i'll be going on the a cruise on spring break,(Pride of Aloha) and i went last year too. There's always a lot of teens, mostly older ones, but there are also a lot of younger kids.

Default Spring Break

We will be cruising with our two teen daughters this spring break (March 25-April 1) on the NCL Jewel. Where are you going?

We cruised about March25 last year out of NYC on the Spirit. Strangest thing, I thought we'd be sailing with masses of children, and while there were quite a few, it wasn't a problem. The problems were created by the young "adults" who were on Spring Break from Cornell and other universities. They caused a lot more problems than the little ones did.

What weeks are the most popular for spring break? Is it likely that the 10 night eastern caribbean cruise on DAWN (leaving NYC March 22nd) would be a popular spring break cruise?

I think the fact that its a 10 day cruise would lend itself to having fewer children on it, just because the kids around here only get a week off and so I tend to think they'd be more apt to choose a severn day or less cruise. But as a pp mentioned, many ppl take their kids out of school to cruise.

Thanks beenie weenie! With it being 10 days my thoughts were the same as yours. Up here spring break varies by province but they are generally over no later than the 3rd week of March. Universities have reading weeks in February and most students who head for the sun tend to go to Florida.

We sailed the jewel for 8 days last year during spring break (first week of april) and it was pack with kids! It was so crowded that in the kids crew, the area they had designated for the toddlers with the jungle gym was given to the teens and they moved the toddlers to the small cinema (movie room).

I've heard like bennie said the longer cruises seem to sometimes have less kids on them. We are sailing the pearl this spring break for 9 days and I'm hoping that our daughter will actually get to play in the area the ship has made for her.
