Default March Madness - Are NCAA games broadcast?

I will be on the Star in late March. Is NCL able to broadcast sports shows in any of the lounges on their ships? The "Red Lion Pub" looks like it might have TV screens. In the Star brochure, there is even a picture that looks like a bunch of guys drinking beer and looking towards a TV.

Thanks!

There are just a few channels available for NCL cabins, ESPN being one. If there is a sports bar aboard, they can get other channels. Your best choice would be the sports bar. Then you will most likely have fight others who may wish to see another game.

All the lines contract with certain networks. Normally the big sporting events are not shown which has always been a disappointment to us. Hope you luck will be different. yes, the sports bar will be your best bet: good luck.

Last time we were on HAL's Zuiderdam, they played the Steeler's Monday Night Football game in the Queen's lounge. It was ESPN out of Guatamala and the audio was in Spanish. But, at least we got to watch the game.

So, I'd say its not out of the question since an NCAA tourney game is a bit bigger than a regular season MNF game. It probably depends entirely on what Satellite feeds are available on the ship at the time. My guess is you'll have a good chance of seeing the games somewhere on the ship.

Tim, I think the satellite feed has something to do with it. On our NCL cruise on the Jewel (northernatlantic) about 18 monts ago it was amazing how much we got. We even got Fox, but we didn't get any sports. It was opening week of the NFL so I am sure many, including us were very disappointed. On our HAL cruise in Nov/Dec we got football the first night or so, then just soccar, from Guatamala as well plus some basketball from Spain: all was in Spanish. I really doubt they will show the March madness. I hope for DJ sake I am wrong. NMnita

Well, I guess the best strategy would be to get a Tivo or DVR and avoid all newspapers and broadcasts until you get home to watch. I'm not sure how I ever watched TV without a DVR. For me, its become an essential tool for TV viewing. Thanks to the skip button, no more commercials.
