Default Graduation Cruise to Bermuda

This will be my first cruise and I'm going with three close friends after our highschool graduation. We will all be 18 and I was wondering what there is to do on board for all of us. Are there certain dining areas or casinos where we have to be over 18? We're headed to Bermuda on a 7 day cruise. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi tiki12,

Welcome to Cruisemates!

I hope you have someone over 21 sailing with you! From the NCL site:

Quote:
What are NCL's Age Requirements?

Company policy dictates that a passenger under 21 years of age must be accompanied in the same or connecting stateroom by a passenger 21 years or older who expressly agrees to be responsible for the under 21 passenger throughout the cruise. This includes, but is not limited to, preventing under-age purchase or consumption of alcohol**, preventing under-age gaming activities and preventing violations of any ship's rules. Passengers must be age 21 to purchase or consume alcohol and age 18 to gamble on the ship. If the accompanying adult is not the minor's parent or legal guardian, a PARENTAL/ GUARDIAN CONSENT LETTER that authorizes the minor's travel and further authorizes medical treatment in case of an emergency must be delivered to an NCL representative at the pier. Failure to produce this letter at embarkation may result in boarding being denied, with no refund of cruise fare provided.

**With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii itineraries, NCL permits guests between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty (20) to purchase and personally consume wine and beer while on NCL ships with the consent of an accompanying parent or legal guardian (“Parental Consent) on the same sailing when the vessel is outside the US state territorial waters (3 miles). Complete details and the Parental Consent form are available on board at the Reception Desk.
It looks like you can gamble, but not drink alcohol.

there are lots of things for you to do, especially when there will be a couple of you cruising together. Yes, you can gamble in the casino and according to some you can drink beer and wine. I would check that one out as my information is a little different. Whichever way you will still have fun. Just visiting the ports and soaking up the sun can be a good way to celebrate your graduation. I hate to be the lecturer here, but I am sure you have heard this before: make sure you stay in groups of two and if you are able to drink be careful. Young people and alcohol mixed together can lead to trouble if you are not careful. Do I sound like a mom, well I am that and a grandma and just the other day became a great grandma. I also was 18 many years ago.

Have a wonderful cruise and I hope you are off to college in the fall. NMnita

That's great! I've seen young people booking who don't have a clue! I'm glad you do.

Besides NMnita's wonderful advice (and as a Grandma, myself), let me add that you should never (on the ship or in port) put your drink down unsupervised. If you get up to dance get another drink. Don't take the chance of someone "spiking" your drink.

Have a wonderful, safe cruise!

Fern, you sound too much like me: I am always telling my grandkids that. Watch your drink, soft drink or alcohol. They just roll their eyes>>>>>
