Default Butchart Garden Tours - Other Than Cruise Ship's

Will be there the 14th on the Pearl 6:30p.m.-midnight, the garden tour offered by the ship is sold out. Any of you toured the gardens on your own? Looking for suggestions/ideas

Thanks
Frank

I would go to Ports a call and see if anyone has done an independant tour. The gardens are something everyone should see: absolutely unbeliebable.

Frank,

We did the Alaskan cruise in 2004, but we went out of Seattle. We went up a few days ahead of time and went over to Victoria from Seattle. We booked a 'combo" tour where we saw the Gardens and we're giving a tour of the city, with an option for "tea" in the afteroon at the palace. (They have other tours also, but we felt that one was the most comprehensive.) We enjoyed it and know of others who did as well. The ferry ride over to Victoria was part of the package, so I know that the times were in sync. You will just have to check the docking times and tour times to see if it will work out for you. Good luck!

The name was Clipper Vacations:

Default Butchart is WONDERFUL

TAKE A CAB.
I would suggest waitlisting once aboard in case anything opens up.

The gardens are realatively small and can easily be walked in 2-3 hours.

Getting a cab for the return to the pier can be a chore, but ask ask in the gift shop on your way out and they should call for you.

If you want to have fun, get the bus routes/schedules online before you go, and ride the bus to/from Butchart Gardens. It's a neat trip without luggage. Saves a bundle over the cab, too.

Blessings and following winds

Absolutely a must see. I wasn't overly enthused to visit BG but enjoyed our time there immensely! The history behind BG is quite interesting and there are 5-6 separate garden areas to walk through. Other than transportation to BG from downtown VIctoria (about 30 min) a tour would not be necessary. Spend some time walking around downtown VIctoria and the waterfront and then go to BG. It will be a lovely day.
