Default Got scammed

Okay I was a fool. We bought paintings on the Prde of Aloha for over two thousand dollars. Westend publishing out of Ft Lauderdale has not sent any pictures to us. It not only the WORST cruise I have ever been on but to be dealing with a corrupt art dealer makes me dilike NCL all the more. We have been on at least 8 cruises and NCL is the worst cruise line so far. Why would they have such a corrupt art auction house representing their cruise line.

I only have a couple of comments here and they won't help you much. I am glad Irish Shark has been able to provide you with contact names: Now, how long ago did you purchase the paintings? I ask, because it can take up to 3 months to get them.

It is too bad so many lines are not using Park West anymore. I don't understand this. They were reliable, had good reputations and good selections.

My other comment, when are people going to realize NCL and NCLA are not the same company.

I'm confused....what is NCLA and where did it come up in this thread?

Phil & Liz

Edit: Nevermind, I was reading the other complaint about an NCLA and it was explained there. 2 dif lines with one parent company,

It was NCL not Carnival.. 3 months is ridiculous! Park West has been wonderful to work with. The paintings were delivered in a timely manner not 3 months!!!!!! West End Publishing should be put out of business on NCL cruises. They are making NCL look BAD

I am glad you have had speedier than 3 month delivery from Park West, we have had anything from 6 weeks to 3 months. I am still partial to them, but the time element was not much under the 3 months.

Now I am wondering if you have a reason to be concerned. How long did West End say it would take for delivery or did you inquire?

I talked to a Jennifer Feldman who is suppose to contact us today. She said they was trouble with framing .....for 3 months. Park West has treated us so fairly but this WestEnd Publishing has not. We are seniors that do not like to lose hard earned money. I will give them till today and then all you know what will break out.

Guess what Jennifer Feldman from Westend never called back. She is head of art cruising. I do not think they have the paintings. Thank God Bank of America has already stepped in and they assured that we will get our money back. I sure hope so. I also called guest relations with NCL and filed a complaint against West End Publishing. We are leaving on another cruise in Oct for Bermuda with NCL. We like NCL to cruise with.

That was a pity she did not call you back. I am glad you complained to NCL. They need to know these things and you should follow up with the one that did not call back and make sure she knows you noticed she did not call back. I am really glad that the bank has stepped in. I remember once I had an ebay issue and there were charges not mine, Pay pal dragged for ever to correct it, well, not so forever once the credit card company got involved. Ya got to do what ya got to do! Reading this confirms me staying away from these types of auctions!

i am guessing you paid by a credit card. If so, just dispute the item with your credit card company that the products were never delivered and the problem goes away!!

Great idea. When we were on HAL last winter we purchased some Costa Rican coffee but hubby turned in an order that wasn't exactly like I wanted. We went to activities director and asked if the order had gone to the coffee company yet? She said it hadn't and for us to fill out a new one, she would distroy the old one. Well, I guess you can figure out what happened? She didn't distroy the original one thus we got 2 boxes (40 lbs) of coffee. First we refused the second one, then it arrived again. This went on for about 6 or 8 weeks. We contacted HAL who told us it wasn't there problem. We contacted the coffee company who said it was the fault of HAL. After 3 months we called our credit card company. That was the end. We didn't have to pay for 2 deliveries.

Good for you and B of A even if it isn't my favorite bank. For you, it is sad you are out your paintings, for us, we have enough coffee to last a couple of years. Of course we could share. Yes, we kept the 20 lbs the last time it arrived as that is what we were told to do.

I have never bought art on a ship. Why?? Sorry you got scammed. I have been on Disney, NCL, Princess, and Royal Caribbean. All have their plus and minuses, but my family all agrees that NCL was the best of the bunch.

I have no idea what you are basing your opinion on, but it is opinion only, not based on fact. What do you mean their upgrades are useless? I notice you are new to the boards.

Hope you can offer some positive input, not just here to blast away.

I won a art print during a drawing at art auction on Norwegian Sun in Aug that my CC was billed for shipping. Now I find out by contacting NCL and auction comapny that they never shipped art print due to not doing business with NCL. But neither NCl or 'The Fine ARt of Cruising" notified me until I contacted them on DEC 3. I had a email from Jennifer too! same business address but different company name. I am very pissed with both companies for not notifying me. I feel like I have been ripped off! NCL just told me it will take 15 days to get refund credit on my CC. I am not impressed!

Why do people pay for things at these art auctions when they are all reproductions and therefore....worthless?

Sorry Cassandra, I disagree with you. We have bought and won many beautiful prints and lithograph of many artist from Park West on our RCI and Carnival cruises. We took one to our local Kinkade Gallery, showed them the paperwork and they said we did very well. We have a framer who just loves the ones we bring him. Only so many prints of each original is made which makes them valuable.
