Trunk Bay question...

Is it worth it to go over to Trunk Bay from St. Thomas? It says it's a 5 hour excursion, but only an hour and a half is spent at Trunk Bay. Ideally, I'm looking for a beautiful beach to relax at, where I can rent a lounge chair, order drinks and perhaps grab a bite to eat.

Trunk Bay is nice but I'm sure there are many great beaches on St Thomas that would be just as good if not better for you. Most of the time is spent on the boat between the 2 islands and the ride to from the beach and dock. I don't remember there being any beach chairs at Trunk Bay either,

We have been to Trunk Bay and thought that it was a beautiful beach. Last year when we were in St. Thomas we decided to go to Magen's Bay. It was a great day and we rented chairs and enjoyed the beach. There were places to get food and drinks. It was a great day without the hassle of taking the Ferry to St. John.

Next summer, we will be in St. Thomas again. We may head over to St. John since our kids have never been. Otherwise, it may be another beach on St. Thomas.

Hi,

I lived in St. Thomas for 7 years and loved going to St. John on my days off. I would suggest taking a taxi to Red Hook and then taking the Ferry, about $5, to St. John from the dock in St. John you can take another taxi and go to Trunk Bay. It is a gorgeous beach and very well worth going to.

My opinion, NO, it is a great beach, but you are right, there are others, especially Megan's bay that are nice and would give you more time to relax than 90 minutes.
