Default NCL Jewel- Deck 11 aft balconies...

Hi,

I'm booked for stateroom 11156 and when I see pics of the ship the balconies don't seem to be very large. Anyone sailed in these aft rooms?

You have booked a mini suite not a regular balcony and they are quite large - Balcony Square Footage (54) Cabin Square Footage (231). Which is much bigger than a regular balcony.

beenie,

I guess compared to balconies on lower decks, they look smaller...maybe I'm being too picky but this is my first aft and i've been waiting SO long for one!

Hey I just did a little checking around and found out that the specific stateroom you selected IS somewhat smaller than others in the same category: You may want to see if you can move to a larger one if you want the extra square footage. Here's what I found:

Jewel, Pride of Hawaii, Pearl and Gem
11150 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (231) (54)
11152 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (218) (54)
11154 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (231) (54)
11156 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (218) (54)
11650 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (335) (69)
11654 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (335) (81)
11656 - Cabin & Balcony Sq Ft (218) (54)

Wow - there's quite a difference there. Are they all category AF do you know?
I've got an email in to my TA...so hope to switch to either one of those or a room below this deck. We like to sleep in and I'm afraid we'll get woken up at 7am with the nose from above. Light sleepers, too.

Thanks!!

The larger ones are HC equiped. The rest are about the same size with balconies exactly the same size as any other AF. Other then the penthouse your balcony will be as big or bigger then any other aft cabin.

I'm wondering if I've made a wise choice - being that I'm scared to death of being woke up at 7am to chairs scraping on the deck above. On vacation I like to stay up late and sleep in a bit.
Thanks also, Shoreguy!

Well bring a pair of ear plugs and make the most of it. On a positive note I have read these rooms in the back are pretty quiet.

Just leave the sliding door open a bit. The sound of the wake will cover any small noises from above. Not ssure you have picked a better cabin unless youwanted to spend a lot more money. The view, being out of the wind and weather, and the bakery vent make it a great location.

beautiful pics!! I just don't understand why deck 11's mini suite balconies (aft) are smaller compared to other decks. You can see from other pics that a regular balcony cabin on the aft seems to have a bigger balcony. Hmmm...maybe I'm just fixating on something that's not a big deal, but I like to stretch out a bit on the balcony.

Thanks again for the pics,
Mary

Other then Deck ten the balconies on 8 and 9 are not as deep as the AF balcony. From and AE penthouse deck 9.

Wow - I guess! I'm used to Royal Caribbean's which are huge. However, I'm so psyched about our upcoming cruise. It was sort of a last minute thing and the price CAN'T be beat - which is why we're trying Norwegian!!

Plus, I know Michael will like the more relaxed dress and choice of specialty restaurants!

Thanks, Mary

Default deck 10 balconies

Such great info on these posts! Wondering if anyone has any pix of the 10th floor balconies on the Star. We are booked in 10036 and I'm wondering what to expect of the room and balcony. I've only cruised on HAL before and know the rooms are smaller but any pix would be wonderful. Thanks in advance for all the help!
