Eric, I had a mini suite, and it had tons of storage..even the closet was deep enough for loads of luggage. This cabin design was the best we ever had..Smart thinking when into it...I loved the colors as well.. Enjoy!

Nice review of the Gem. We sail on her in 3 weeks from today (not that I'm counting or anything). Did any of the restaurants stand out to you more than another? We were on the Dawn last May, but i know each ship is different.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, I was assisgned to my dining options for this cruise, and I was in the Teppenyaki Restaurant, and Tequila Restaurant.

I loved the Japanese Steakhouse, because I had never tried that style of dining before..The food was delicious, and I opted for the chicken and shrimp combo. The food was plentiful, and the "show" was s worth it, not over the top, but entertaining none the less.

Tequila, was one, that when I sail her again I will pass on..Nothing special, but the sangria and the chunky guacamole was delish.

I wish I was able to try Cagney's. Beatuiful room with an open kitchen. This was THE place, so if you are a steak lover, BOOK it FAST!

I hope you will come back and let us know of your experiences onboard this "IT GIRL." I bet you will be impressed as I was..Have a ball!

Trip,

Thank you very much for your response. If Tequila is the same style as the Tex-Mex restaurant on the Dawn then we will be passing as well. When we ate there, my wife was less than impressed.

Teppenyaki sounds like it will be nice - I enjoy Asian food and have had fun when we went to the style of restaurant where they cook in front of you (Hibachi style).

I hope that the Freestyle 2.0 has started this way we can try Cagneys for breakfast or lunch (we are in a AE). We have also talked about trying some of the other specailty places.

Thanks again,
Mark

Mark no need for Freestyle 2.0 Cagney's is open for AE passengers for breakfast and lunch. Some days on my two cruises (20 days) on the Gem I ended up eating 3 meals in Cagneys.

Tequila is exactly the same as Salsa on the Dawn. Not a bad place to stop late afternoon for Tapis, maybe a little fresh made guacamole, and a beverage.

Don't miss the Steak N Eggs - same petite filet they serve in the Bistro. The other breakfast dishes are not bad either
