NCL Bahamas and Caribbean Cruises out of NYC Summer 2009
Hello,
We travelled on the Pearl last October and loved it. We wanted to try an NCL cruise out of NYC in summer of 09, but I noticed that there are no sailings listed. They end in April 09 then resume in December. Am I just planning too early?
It seems unusual because the NCL Dawn to Bahamas and Florida has been going on for a few years now. There always seemed to be plenty of choices for Caribbean cruises too. But nothing is set for summer of 09. Am I missing something?
I don't see anything either. It looks like NCL is moving the ships out of NY during that period. No idea why.

The Dawn will be doing Bermuda from NYC in the summer of 09 as it is this year. The Spirit we be replacing the Dream doing Bermuda from Boston. So as it stands now if you don't want to go to Bermuda from NYC you will need to jump on RCL in NJ or Princess in Brooklyn

There is nothing listed for the Summer of 09.

No there are currently no Caribbean cruises from NYC on NCL to the Caribbean or Bahamas & Florida next summer. As other posters inicate the NCL Dawn will be going to Bermuda from NYC, the Spirit from Boston to Bermuda.
A few reasons why they backed out from Caribbean bahamas and Florida sailings next summer.
1. They have a contract of sorts with Bermuda to offer so many calls to the island of the next so many years.
2. So far despite high air costs Europe is a HOT destination for cruising. People are getting more bang for their buck because of cruisings somewhat all inclusive nature and in Europe it comes out more favorable to cruise because meals are included. Also many Europeans have taken to cruising on new large ships. So NCL like other big lines are starting to position ships year round in Europe. Therefore the Jade is scheduled to be in Europe year round for the 2009-2010 season.
