Default NY to Bahamas, How rough?

Looking to do a NY to Bahamas cruise in first week of June. Wife has talked to some who say that the seas are very rough. Can anyone confirm or denie for me?

I can be very rough...usually during the winter though. We were fine and we sailed in January, we had a rough night or two but it wasn't that bad.

I think in June, you will have a better chance of a smoother ride....My co worker had some rough rides on way to Bermuda, but that was further into the hurricane season..
