I paid $50 for the adult soda program last week on the Majesty. It was the worst money I spent the entire trip!
It tasted awful. I regreted it after the first day. Each time I filled the cup it was a different taste. It was flat and had a horrid taste. I could tolarate the Sprite more than the Coke. I ended up buying an 8 pack of Pepsi in Florida to last me the rest of the cruise.
I noticed that some guests brought a case of their favorite soda as their carry on when boarding the ship. I wish I would thought or known to do that.
I just spoke to someone at NCL (were are cruising June 14th) and he indicated that they have coke but were also going to start offering Pepsi. He did not say they were switching over.
Does anyone else have a comment on the diet coke taste? My palate is very fussy, and I've tasted other "fountain" diet cokes that are no way related to the real taste of diet coke.
If you order the soda card you get the fountain drink, if you buy seperately they give you a can. My husband does not like the fountain drinks on NCL ships so we do not buy a soda card for him. The most sodas we bought in a day were 4 a day between myself and him. We brought our own soda on for when we were in the cabin. Didn't want to run upstairs everytime I wanted a drink. I prefer caffeine free diet pepsi, my son gator ade, my husband prefers coke. The soda card for kids is $4 per day plus gratuity and they gave him a mug. The kids card was worth it, that way he could get a drink if we weren't around.
Okay, maybe you all have to have your soda, I don't know. Although I am usually a Pepsi drinker, I opted to not buy ANY sodas on our trip on the Pearl, and had iced tea instead. It may sound silly, but their iced tea tasted awesome. And I am a picky Texas tea drinker! Best of all, NO CHARGE, and you can get it in the cafe and dining rooms.
ICK to Pepsi. I will buy my cans of diet coke on land.............

I agree about the ice tea at no charge. We got some cans of diet coke (son't like Pepsi either) -- at the bar they were $1.99. If you used the ones in the fridge, they were $2.25. Our cruise is over, but we drank mostly the free ice tea on Star. Unfortunately, the ice machines rarely worked, but we had a great time in Alaska anyway.
I loaded up on juice in the morning! Yuck to the NCL ice tea...I stuck to water!

just off the Dawn today. They now have only Pepsi products. We got our coke on the island and took back to the ship no problem. My 5 kids had the soda program and they loved it, but the wife needs coke.
