No irons in the room and you are not supposed to take one. Lots of "Downy Wrinkle Releaser", that will do it!

The Jewel has laundry rooms and I think I read somewhere they are equipped with irons. Check it out as I am not certain.

You were correct but they have closed all the onboard public laundry rooms. They do offer a day one pressing special on all the ships.

Where do they advertise public laundry rooms I have never seen it even when they were open.

I kjnow I did see the laundry rooms on some info page somewhere in the cyber-world - of course I can't find it now. So I will assume they are not available and be pleasantly surprised if they are. As for ironing, I always bring a small water squirter - the kind you spray plants with - and when I unpack my clothes I just spray any wrinkles a little and hang them up, works like a charm. Hope that helps. Kathy

The laundry rooms are long gone. They have been removed from all ships in the last twelve months. I think the Jade was the last one.

Take care,
Mike

I have a small steamer that I take wherever I go. It works wonders!

Irons are not provided in the staterooms. A laundry service is available, but I find it rather expensive. Your stateroom attendant can settle this for you.

Periodically through your cruise they place a paper "laundry bag" on your bed. Whatever you can fit into that bag costs US$25 for wash and fold.

They have closed the laundrettes where passengers could wash, dry and iron their own clothes. The cost for this service was US$1 - for the detergent purchased on the ship.

All cruises I've taken (total: 8) have discouraged the use of travel irons in staterooms as it is a fire hazard. Hang your clothes up as soon as your suitcases are delivered to your stateroom, and press them out with your hands if need be.

We sailed on the Jade last summer. I called NCL in advance re irons and was told they are not available and travel irons could not be used in the rooms. I expect that is the policy on all the ships. Hope that helps.

I believe the Jewel has a laundry room. Perhaps there are irons there.

The Jewel doesn't have the laundry facilities anymore, darn it. As for no irons, this is the case on every single cruise line, irons are viewed as a fire hazard..
