Default Spa tipping?

Going on my first NCL cruise soon, and planning to do to the teeth whitening? Wondering how the tipping works, hear they autmatically add 18% , and then if you like you can also tip additionally in cash? Many thanks.

You heard correctly. 18% added and you can add more only if you want in cash or on the check.

It must be a NCL policy to add 18% tip to your bill. I have never been pre-charged a tip on any Spa service I have had but there is a place to add one which I do at my discretion.

Just sticking my nose in here. Are you sure you want to do do teeth whitening on your cruise? Some people find it very painful for at least the first 24 hours and you cannot drink dark beverages like red wine and colas for a period afterwards.

I've had several friends who did this and were not happy campers for several days. Their teeth did come out looking great but they weren't smiling for a while.

Just a though.

Default Whitening on board

I did the whitening on board the Star only because I won it at the spa raffle.
I don't recall any pain. It was a paint on and wait for the light to whiten the solution type of bleaching.
However, to 'maintain' the bleaching they recommend their solution that you brush on in a white bottle.......at the special price of 2 bottles for $99.

When I got home I discovered they were offered on Ebay for $3.99 a bottle. (yes less than $4 a bottle) I freaked wondering just what they sold me to put on my teeth. I discontinued use and went through my receipts (save them all!) and requested a refund and mailed it back to NCL's spa vendor.
They gladly refunded my money.

Are you sure? Carnival, Princess and Celebrity all add the tips automatically and have for a few years now...
