Being Gold does not give you any upgrade. If you have the past cruise upgrade coupon you go up one level. Book a GTY and all bets are off. I have booked BD GTY and ended up in BA.

You really can't book onboard anymore. What you can do is buy one or more cruise rewards. You can buy up to 4 per person and they are transferable. Better then an upgrade. You pay $250 and get a $100 obc for the current cruise. So for a net $150 you can use the $250 reward toward the next cruise you book anywhere. The best part that reward is the all you need for a deposit.

So the net $150 investment gets you $250 off your next cruise and saves you from having to tie up $800 of your own money for a deposit.

Default CERTIFICATES

Since I know exactly what ship and what date I want to go..it sounds like a bargain..Not to mention if I get to the Boston Globe Travel show in February I can deal with NCL directly..i.e."wheel and deal"..lol. The funny part is that in writing to a cruise buddy from this area he has already booked the exact cruise for the exact date

What some people are missing about the $250 cruise rewards deposit, is that it is the full deposit for every one in your stateroom. You get a $100 instant OBC so it only costs you $150 and at the time you use it you will get the $250 credit, not a bad deal. You can buy up to 4 per person and they are transferable and you have 4 years from time of purchase to redeem them.
Now the exceptions:
You can only use one per stateroom.
Can't be used as full deposit for the Owner's suite, Courtyard and Garden Villas you can use them as partial deposit toward the full deposit on the Owner's suite, Courtyard and Garden Villas.
You must be 21 or older to charge them to your shipboard account.
If not used within the 4 years from time of purchase they become null and void.
