I travel with different friends/family on my cruises. I booked on the Epic an AC Penthouse and was told that it holds only two individuals. Since I will be traveling with a niece on this trip I asked if there was a possibility that the bed can be converted into two and the answer was no. They also stated that the sofa could not be made into a bed. Has anyone heard of this. It seems to me that there should be some kind of rooms in this category for friends/family sailing together.
I just visited passengers on NCL, the older ships have cabins that have beds that do NOT pull apart to be 2 singles; I was surprised to learn about this. They were 2 single ladies and did not plan to share a bed, but they managed to get some sleep using the old fashioned "your head to my toes" position. Everything worked out okay. You will want to request 2 single beds, that's for sure.
