gown on ncl jewel

i know you probably get a million posts asking about what to wear. i know formal is not required, but have you seen people wearing gowns at all? (not a big poofy one, but one that just goes down to the ground) thank you

The simple answer... yes. I've been surprised on my NCL cruises to find perhaps 15% of people go quite formal on formal nights, with tuxes etc.

On our Gem t/a I was surprised and delighted to see men in tuxes and women in gowns..I even made a positive comment to one...It was a very,very small percentage that wore "formal".. One formal night Parrot Pop opted for his dark jacket and I had my dressy black pants with dressy top and jewelry.. Sadly, some of the cruisers were wearing I swear the same clothes for days...The rest of the time I wore dressy slacks and varied the tops. The other formaL nights I felt a bit guilty, but we did spend time in the alternative restaurants and dressed up for those.

First, I'd like to welcome you to CruiseMates ! In answer to your question, yes you will not feel "out of place" wearing a formal gown on Formal Night. (Even a "poofy" one if that's what you have !)

Personally, we've stopped dressing up, but there are many more cruiser's who do dress up! I'd say "go for it" !
