Default Best cruise for 20-somethings?

My husband and I are planning our first cruise and we're both in our mid-twenties. We'll be cruising through the Eastern Mediterranean and couldn't be more excited!

We're looking to book ASAP as we're leaving next month. There are three cruise lines offering the dates we want at similar prices, and now we're trying to figure out which to use! I know reviews are pretty subjective, but I'm wondering if anyone has insight as to which would be best for a younger couple, and which are best (in your opinion) overall.

Costa Serena, RCI Splendour of the Seas or NCL Norwegian Gem? Thoughts? Thanks!

I don't know how much help this may be, as I've only sailed RCI once, and the others none at all, but I would think RCI is your best bet, and my husband swears by the one Costa cruise he took years ago - the best!
I would also thing RCI would be the best bet for 20-somethings....
Enjoy your cruise whatever you choose!

AWESOME first cruise setting the bar pretty high that will be hard to top...hope you have some options in terms of air...Venice is my favorite city on earth (for obvious reasons) and cruising in the "med" with stops in the Greek Islands (Santorini, Mykonos) makes it very romantic whether you are in your 20's (like yourself and RD) or in your 90's..plus May is a great month to cruise in that part of the world and you will miss the summer crowds and have great weather

bear in mind that your overall cruise fellow passengers will be older and that your cruise will be port intensive...I would opt for the NCL Gem for the freestyle cruising style (gives you lots of options to eat etc.), newer ship and perhaps a younger group of passengers (no scientific data to back the last one up)

I would go one step further...Venice is an awesome city (plan on spending 2 days prior to your cruise) and I would select the May 15th sailing because when you return on the following saturday the 22nd, the city will be in a very festive mood because the annual Vogalonga Regatta is on the next day (Sunday the 23rd) and by returning on a Monday your flights should be less full (Sunday is a mad house at the airport)

plan on taking 2 gondola rides...one during the day on the Grand Canal (to see everything) and one at night along a side canal (romantic)..expensive yes, but priceless

bottom line, you really can't lose with any of the 3 ships mentioned...we here at cruisemates are so happy for you..remember to post a review and pictures for us on your return..Venice has a great jazz club (Venice Jazz Club), located on a small funky back street that you can get to by gondola or water bus, if you are into that type of music

Take AIDA - the German ship!

There are a lot of young people there ( 15 or even 35 ?)
Nobody would write how long you must wash your hands.
Great animation team, a lot of people on the discothek,
common (for girs and boys) very big saunas.
FKK area - so there could you be without clothes under the sun.

A lot of mineral water any time without charge.
Hadnsome German officers , everybody can speak englich.

Nobody would check if you bring some alkohol on Bord.
( I never drink any alkohol at all but I don't like that bottle bacchanalia on other ships)

Great tip : AIDA !

They are trying to make no stress on that ships and no crazy rools!.

considering your age I would choose either NCl or RCI. Both are good lines and will have a nice mixture of ages. Go with the one that offers the most exciting itinerary and the best price. If there is little difference, I am an NCL loyalist so I would choose NCL, but as I said both are good lines. The Gem is an awesome ship.
