Just wanted to verify a statement a friend made recently. According to him, an NCL cruise he took a few years ago charged $10 for a single beer. And yes, I'm sure he was drinking a run-of-the-mill domestic brand.
I find that hard to believe.

Beer on cruise ships runs about 7 - 9 USD per bottle .
The best deal is usually a bucket of beer . 6 for the price of 5

It depends on what kind of beer.
My experience is closer to $5 to $7.50.
But I am not sure about NCL - I haven't sailed on them for awhile. But I will be soon.

As of last October, it was closer to $5 for a bottle of Bud. This included the 15% gratuity.

Well that would only mean that if you will buy an expensive beer like that, you are either a wealthy one or just a beer dependent one...

O, my Gott.
I waited all the time for that question .
That is normally the main topic on German forums
But I thought it never coust more than 3-4 Euro on ship.
10 USD - that is really tooo much !
even 7 USD for bottle.
I would not buy that stuff even for one cent (I drink no alkohol)
but 10 USD is terrible - some people drink that stuff as a water.
