Default NCL Jewel - Mini-Suite Question

I was planning to book a mini-suite somewhere midship on the NCL Jewel. I notice that there is a dining room and some other public areas directly above the mini-suites. Does this create a lot of noise above the mini-suites at night?

Not sure the Gem, on which we sailed has the same deck plan, but we never heard a thing in our mini suite...the room was fabulous too!

Default Mini-Suite

We were on the Gem in a mini-suite in November and were not located anywhere near a dining room. That is the one thing I check out when booking a cabin... what is above and what is below..

Yes it does - DO NOT DO IT!!! We booked a Baltic Capital 12 day cruise last year on Deck 11 and we had the Kids zone directly above us on Deck 12 and all you heard from 8am to 11pm was the kids running and dropping things on the floor. We complained and they did nothing for us. It was one of the worst mistakes we made and so not worth the extra money.

we were offered upgrades to mini-suites on the Jewel. All of them are on deck 11 under the pool area (mid-ship), buffet (aft), or the spa (forward). After a lot of reading on the boards and discussion with my TA, the mid-ship ones we got might have some noise around 6am when they take out the deck chairs and you might hear scrapping.. seems some people hear it and others don't or doesn't bother them..
we are going with mini-suites and hope for the best
