The funny thing about these staterooms is that you are essentially walking into the bathrooms on the way in.

You will notice how there is a curtaiun that goes across the room - that curtain spearates the room from the bathroom facilities, but the front door of the room is on the shower side of that curtain.

Therefore - you could be taking a shower or sitting on your "throne" when someone walks into your room - and there you are.

I know there is glass to close off the shower and toilet, and I presume you cannot see through it clearly - but I really am not sure.

In most of the renderings and even this picture it actually seems as if you CAN see the oouline of the toilet pretty clearly. That is too much, oh well.

I will be staying in one of the rooms you see bathed in the purple light.

Drat..I missed it! I didn't get a notification

As far as the bathroom, debaucle, I am trying to understand why they thought this was a good idea....I can understand wanting to be cutting edge, but, this is insane..what were they thinking!!!!!! I am going to try and keep this a secret from Bruce, till he walks in the cabin!!

You can put on a blue tuxedo, and ruffled shirt, and play a lounge lizard in your cabin! Very Vegas!

I can't wait to hear about your cabin, Paul!

Trip, I agree with you! What the heck were they thinking? Why would they separate the 3 most important "things" in a cabin? And put them just inside the cabin door?

Sorry, but I just don't get it,

I will remember to wear a tuxedo when going to the bathroom.
Never know who will pop in and you always want to make a good impression.

I don't care if somebody see me naked or as I am sitting anywere.

But I hate if somebody comes in my room without I gave OK.

So I put always "don't disturb " on my door.
That is very easy and it works.

were is the problem .

Paul..don't pass judgement until you are actually onboard and in your room..I'm sure the NCL designers have thought this issue thru

fyi..your wife contact the housekeeping staff and had them install a webcam in your room so she can keep track of your comings/goings ::

Here is what I would be worried about. You are in the bathroom and your spouse knocks in the door "Let me in!" - so the good thing is you can open the door without getting out of the shower, thats a plus, but while the door is open, say while she is bending over to pick up her shopping bags, a dozen people walk by and see you in the shower - or sitting in the toilet.

if the cabin is designed for 1 person, why would your spouse be knocking on the door

of course it brings a new meaning to the old phrase ::::.....&^%$ or get off the pot ::::

you might do an in depth interview with the cabin stewards to find out how they have been trained to handle this new cabin type ...

Paul..you would have never made it in the 60's if you lived in a hippie commune or was at woodstock :: you are far to modest

Just so you know all the cabins have the same bathroom setup, not just studios. So yes a spouse or travelling companion(s) could come into the room while you are in the shower/toilet or just getting out of the shower.

I'm sure there will be some embarrassing moments for guests and room stewards until everyone gets used to the setup. For example someone forgetting to use the do not disturb sign and not hearing the steward knock while they are in the shower and then stepping out of the shower just as the steward enters the room, thinking no one is there.

One other thing, the studios can have up to 2 guests so it is possible, though unlikely due to their small size, to have two people in a studio.

Default Sorry to lower the tone

Okay so this may be lowering the tone of the thread, but I just have to say it ....

"Single Studios & pink/purple lighting" - The last time I saw anything like this on the TV the proprietors were charging by the hour

Have an interesting time on board,

Alan (& Katrina)

I was thinking the same thing perhaps NCL could generate additional onboard revenue for any unsold studios by renting per hour on sea days...::::

Don't even be joking about yanking my chain. I realize what I have in store for myself.

In any case - I am really looking forward to being able to report on what these staterooms are like on a real 7-day cruise.

Paul, I want you to be be my guinea pig.....make all the embarassing mistakes with the steward, figure out the best way to shower and use the toilet, without full exposure..come back, with copious notes....Then, I won't make the same ones in October

Somthing else to ponder...I wonder how good the soundproofing is between the bathroom, and, the outer wall..If someone is walking by the cabin,a nd oyu were hugging the porcelain pot...could they here you? I bet they can

Paul...here is the definition: yielding something abundantly - a ∼ harvest - ∼ springsb. bplentiful in number - ∼ references to other writers

An Epic Moment in Accommodations: the Studios

They are great .

I get it - the sacred parts of our bodies would be closed.

But the head (Leggs) would be not -so one can look through his bathroom.

It is a great Idea - I don't like to be closed in that small bathrooms.

OK I would be closed but I can see the "world" nevetheless .

It is a great Idea.
So maybe one can even watch TV under the shower (not sure about it)

So the only question can be "why one wash his hands but never the legs ?"))::

Thanaks for ther video Serge... I see the glass on the shower is partially frosted and partially not, it is VERY strategically placed. I guess I will be spending a lot of time just walking down the hallways

I think I'll bring my dog so I have an excuse to be out and just walking around - just put her on a leash and walk the corrider every morning for an hour or two.

What? They don't allow dogs? I'll get one of those "magic leashes" and act like I have a dog, I mean with all those naked bodies who is going to notice I don't really have a dog, right?

Love the video, it gets more interesting by the day.

by the way, does anyone know why they are storing 'toilet-paper rolls' on the bar top at 0:24
