Does anyone know once the ship is docked in Kings Wharf how far the beaches & shops are?
I have a a few posts but have yet to get a straight answer in minutes.
Trying to figure out how convenient it is going to be say i want to just lay on the beach if this is going to be a hassle or not or if everything is right there.
Is it something that is walkable or do we need to take another type of transportation?

There is a snorkel park and beach within 1/4 mile. all of the beaches are acessible using the transportation pass which allows unlimited use of the bus system and ferrie system. It costs $12 for 1 day, $20 for 2 days and $28 for 3 days. You can check out this web site for much more information St. George's Shops, Activities & Dining in Bermuda

Snorkel Park is a 5-10 minute walk, and I'm not a fast walker. Shops are even closer. We never left the area last time we were there in October, and walked to Snorkel Park beach every day. It wasn't crowded when we were there, and there's a bar, rest rooms and rental booth there. There are pictures of the area and beach in my webshots album in the Dawn 2009 albums if you want to see them.
Snorkel Park is the closest as it is also at the Dockyard so you can walk there.
It is nice for a close beach and has all the services you could want. They are now charging an admission fee of $5.
Horseshoe Bay Beach is the top ranking beach. Also has all the services. Get there via bus. About 1/2hr ride. Tip: walk to the left -- away from snack bar area for less crowded and more scenic beach. Good snorkeling, too!
