Itinerary change Pride of America

Does anyone know about the itinerary change on the July 17th,2010 sailing of Pride of America? Apparently, we have vouchers to stay in a hotel on the last day.

I read a thread on cruise critic that it is going in for a 24 hour drydock between cruises.

I'm sorry if this is not what you wanted, but an extra day in Waikiki is not a bad idea (UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAD THAT PLANNED). If you didnt have that planned I would like this change personally, shopping in the Waikiki is too much fun.

Paul, I agree. I think anyone doing Hawaii should spend 2 or 3 days in Waikiki period. There is so much to do.

Would you explain what is "a 24 hour drydock between cruises" ?
I don't want to say in Waikiki. This differenet what they are supposed to do. I would like to see more Kauai.
Is there any way to complain ?

The dry dock is a 24 hour inspection of the ship mandated by the US Coast guard. Sorry the itinerary changed for your week.

I don't think we can do anything in Kauai since ship arrives 7.30AM and departs 3.30PM. Napali coast tour was of our main interest, but no tour can fit in this time.
Does NCL have any liability on itinerary change like this ?
Drydock would be scheduled on much earlier time.

No, they don't. It stinks, but the contract you agreed upon when booking states that the cruiseline can change the itinerary at any time for whatever reason.

For what it is worth, I was in Kauai and my friends rented a car to go up to Kea Beach.....and then back again by 2:30. It gave us time to make the scenic drive, grab a burger at Bubba Burgers and get back to the ship in time.......it include about an hour at the beach to enjoy the water, etc. Of course, this depends on weather and ocean conditions.
