EPIC Studio Cabin 12565

 I have been told that the cabin that I have booked is not accessible
by the aft elevator and that you can only access the cabin by the stairs.
I do not understand this can someone clear this up for me..:?::?:

I am traveling with a small scooter and I think I have a BIG Problem

Thanks

Well, look at it this way, think of all the wonderful exercise you will be getting after eating all the wonderful food on the epic. I don't mind taking the stairs and my cabin is near yours.

Looking at the deck plans, it looks like on each side there are a bank of 4 elevators on each side, unless I am reading it wrong...

Catherine, with all due respect, the OP said he/she is using a scooter. Taking the stairs to get exercise doesn't appear to be an option.

Studio Cabins

Well as it turns out the person I spoke to needs to go back to brush up on the facts of the Epic....and the Studio Cabnis.
Apparently the Studio Cabins have their own corridor which is accesible only by going thru a door that you have to swipe your cabin door key.
So no one who does not have a cabin in that section can walk in the corridor.
Now this ia a manual door and you have to pull/push it open, so if you are using a cane, crutches, walker, scooter, wheelchair it could be difficult to maneuver ones way thru this door.
Why it is not automated is beyond me....I cannot see it being very safe .
Not really user friendly maybe NCL will look into this and have the doors altered to be easier.

Accessibility means space, studio units don't have

Nobody seems to realize that the studio units are only 100 sq ft which is not much more than half the space of the "regular" cabins. People with wheelchairs and scooters need MORE space and these studio cabins are definately not for them. Even the regular cabins are not really big enough which is why there are accessible cabins available. Why bother having an accessible door that leads to an inaccessible room?
