Talking Freestyle dinning with large group?

We are a group of 19, adults and kids looking for some info on dinning.
Is it hard to get tables together?
Will the wait be long?
Can we send one member to DR and start the process early?

Never on Norwegian before.

Hi lvboatnicks
When we were on the NCL Star back in May we say several large groups seated in
dining room they were usually put at 2 or 3 tables, as the largest tables only seat
10. I think you can talk to the Matre De and make arrangements ahead of time
We never had to wait more than 10 min. to be seated, I've waited longer to get
into Olive Garden. Best time to be seated quickly seemed to be 6-7pm, but it
could have just been that cruise the next maybe different. You may have to
figure the best time once on board or if you canreseve tables may not be a problem.
Any way hope this helps. Happy Sailing

In the traditional dining rooms since there is no assigned tables, you should be able to have them get you 2 or 3 tables together.

What I would do is, once onboard, go speak to the maitr'e d..and explain your situation, and he will tell all you need to know, to make your family happy diners

We are just back off the Jade with about 20 other couples. We had no trouble booking large groups in the specialty resturants, but that could be quite expensive. The free venues were fine earlier in the evening but they were quite crowded from about 7:30 on. Call the reservation desk early in the day and ask for seating in the informal MDR and it shouldn't be a problem

Default Dining with large group

If you are going to one of the "Pay extra" dining rooms you will have no problem but if you are going to the regular dining room slip the person you first approch there with a $10 bill secretly in a hand shake and you should be able to get a table put together for you every night otherwise good luck. I have heard some waiters that get complaints about the dining room service will tell you outright to go and pay for a meal if you want a good one. Ed

My TA says that for groups over 20 they will still give you "assigned" time/dining room , area for the group

I do singles cruises and we "need" to be able to mix/mingle and meet up with each other at dinner

I think we could also decide ahead on a night to do "specialty" restaurant/s
maybe in smaller groups???

ask for group services JMO,,,get it sorted out before you cruise
