look at it this way, most of the reviews are pretty positive, but remember it is a ship used of 3 and 4 day cruises. They are never exactly like the "top of the line" ships. Have you ever done a short cruise? If you have you will be fine with the Sky...It is one of the better short cruise ships out of Florida, maybe the best.
We're HAL afficionados but had the chance to get on board the Sky last year and were quite pleasantly surprised. We're old time cruisers who, unlike the NCL commerical where they're all looking at their watches, lining up, all "marching together" to eat dinner or whatnot, agree that NCL works. We went on it twice in the fall, once over Xmas, and have another get away planned for Labor Day week. Our verandah cabin, while not luxurious in comparison with our suites on Celebrity and HAL, was fine for what it was. NCL is not noted for spaciousness nor drawer space. Having said that, the only bad thing we found with the cabin was that the carpet could have been shampooed more often. We ate each evening in LeBistro and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, our food, and our wines/champagne. (I just love their coq au vin.) We had no problem whatsoever with food at breakfast nor lunch when we ate up at the buffet. They kept the ship in good condition and all our wait staff were quite professional. It is great for a quick get out of town trip and well worth it. Happy cruising and who knows, you may run into us one of these days.
Anyone sailing out soon or have been recently could give me a heads up on how this ship is??
Just got back from the Sky this past weekend. did the 4 day and it was really awesome. Staff was outstanding and the shore excursions were great too. Buffet was quick and easy and Cagney's was just outstanding. There was plenty of room around the pool as well. Have been on Carnival twice and would say NCL is now our first choice.
