Default Very excited first time cruiser

Hi,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I had been lurking for the past couple of weeks while I did some research on cruises. Trying to decide on what would best suit my style. Well, I'm excited to say, I finally booked my cruise today! Through a travel agent of course. Its not for another 4 months but I am very excited. I haven't gone on vacation in...well...ever!

MrsN,

Congratulations on your first cruise. It is something you will remember for the rest of your life. Sort of like your first love. You may have a better cruise later but the first will always hold a special place in your heart.

The worst thing is that it is addictive. I booked my second cruise within five days of returning from my first cruise.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. There are no dumb questions. Well maybe; "Does the crew sleep on board?" may qualify.

Take care and welcome aboard,
Mike

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

For our first cruise my husband and I decided to take a short cruise to the Bahamas on NCL Sky in Nov. I have never been on the east coast or the Bahamas so this idea interested me. I just wish air fare wasn't so expensive! (We're flying from the other side of the country.) Oh well! Its worth it! So needless to say we're looking forward to this MUCH needed vacation.

Going to Atlantis in Nassau is a wonderful take in..They have The Dig, and, the Aquarium, both very interesting. Gorgeous shops in the hotel, as well as a huge casino. Dale Chihouly, the amazing glass artist, has a spectacular piece in the lobby. People watching is good here Lunch is $$$.

Doing an island tour would give you a great overview of the island, with great photo ops..

Bay St. has great shopping and the straw market. The prettiest store in the Caribbean John Bull, is there..

Freeport is a good place to snorkle, or scuba, if this is something you do.

Great Stirrup, will be a wonderful beach day, with water sports & time to veg..Lunch and a good book too

welcome and you did a wise thing, planning a short cruise just to get your feet wet (no pun intended) even though the Sky is an older ship, she is a fun one and in good condition.

Have a great time, you will be surprised how fast the time will fly and before you know it you will be sailing out of Miami to the Bahamas.

Great Stirrup Cay is my all time favorite cruise stop. (35 cruises, + or -...I lost track somewhere along the line). I first went there in 1982 and have been back many times. Got addicted to snorkeling there.
Have a great time. And plan on fallling in love with this kind of vacation. Nothing is better, in my book.
Last, but not least, welcome to the group. We truly are, as Trip said, the cruise waiting room!
