Smile New York Airport?

Will be going on our first cruise next June and we are considering the 7 day cruise out of New York. Was wondering what airport would be the best to fly into. Would probably just fly in the night before and stay the night at a hotel so was hoping to get something close to the pier that it departs from.

Thanks!

The best airport is JFK . There are many hotels in close proximity to the ship .

Not too familiar with NY airports, and, not sure if one is better then the other, but my experience with JFK, in May was one that left me saying, never again!! Is flying into Newark in the runniing at all? I know there are a couple of different ports the ships leave from there.

Default 5 NYC major airports

Most people are not aware that there are 5 and not 3 airports .

Newark is only good if you are cruising from Bayonne,NJ .

JFK is surrounded by many hotels and there is even a hotel within the JFK complex . Its also a lot easier to get to Manhattan .You the the option of taking a taxi ,a bus or the Air Train which takes you to either a subway or a railroad which takes you direct to Manhattan.

I have lived all my life in NY and 99% of the time I fly out of and into JFK .

Thanks to the both of you! I was pricing Limos from the airports to the pier and it looks like LGA might be closer. Have either of you flown in and out of that one?
