Hello!
There are 4 of us booked on Norwegian Sun leaving from Copenhagen on May 4, 2012. We are looking to meet other cruisemates and possible join a group to book the shore excursion. We are looking for shore excursions in Berlin, Stockholm and Helsinki. The prices are kinda expensive, but the more people we can have in the group-the more cheaper is the price. So, if anybody looking to form a groups for those shore excursions or just meet your fellow cruisemates-please contact us.
Hi there, we're not on that cruise, but thought we'd drop a couple of suggestions for you to think about.
First of all Stockholm, although the town, harbout and waterways themselves are great to look around, check out the web for details on the Vasa Museum - The warship that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628 when the gun ports were left open & took on water - ooops. A fascinating exhibion for all ages & genders. vasamuseet.se/en/
Then for Berlin, as long as you are in port overnight, take a look at the raillway & keep an eye open for offers, we got a return ticket from Hamburg for around €30 each. We then hooked up with a brilliant walking tour offered by Sandemans New Europe tours (SANDEMANs NEW Europe | Home of the Famous Free Tour) Their tours are given by mature students who have a passion for the cities that they cover, and great local knowledge, and the best part is that they are FREE, and work purely on tips - please be generous, they are after-all trying to a support their education.
Our escort took us to all the places you hear about, plus many more, the tour lasted 5 to 6 hours (with a lunch break), but you can leave at any point you want.
Take a look at their website, as they cover lots of other European cities as well.
Having tried them in Berlin, we went straight to them in Amsterdam a few days later, and are going to use them again this November when we are back in hamburg.
Anyway, as I said, just a couple of ideas for you to look into as you build up your plans for your trip.
Hope you have a fantastic time, in one of my favourite areas of Europe.
Alan & Katrina
