We are interested in trying a Norwegian cruise. The Sky seems to have a regular 3/4 day cruise schedule, which sounds like a good way to start. Can you give your opinion of the on-board experience?
My daughter and I cruise aboard her in 2000.
It was our first ever cruise. Back to back caribbean over 16 nights. If it was because it was our first cruise I can't say,but we couldn't find fault. The staff were brilliant nothing was to much trouble for them. My daughter had her 9 week old son with us.The free style dining was our way to go. The entertainment was great. The cabin was an inside one, though on the small side when you have a cot in the middle. It was clean and comfortable. On the whole we loved every thing about the ship and crew.
The times we sailed on the Sky, one was a 7 day Alaska cruise and the other was when it was the Pride of Aloha. I haven't done the 3/4 day cruise yet but we plan to soon. I really enjoyed the ship and the crew. If lived closer we would be sailing her a lot more.

Reason: I have no clue how the NCL ad got there
I just cruised with the Sky on 02/15/13 - 02/18/13. It was a great weekend cruise. The staff was wonderful - really attentive. Onboard experience was great. There were comedy shows. 50s/60s and 80s dance parties. Salsa and Latin dance parties, White Hot party - so take white outfits(poolside) and many more. They also had karaoke. There is a gym and also a spa. There are a few bars. There were a few hottubs, sauna and steam room and pool on deck 11 (top deck). They have a sports court. Also a Library which was open a few hours a day every day. There is a kids corner and teen zone.
The food was great. I had dinner at the Palace one evening - great food. However, I mostly ate at the Garden Cafe (Buffet).
At the Great Stirrup Cay a barbecue was prepared for us. The food was great. However, it rained really hard that day. Hopefully you have a dry day.
I really enjoyed the tour in Nassau. The tour guide was very detailed and humorous.
Basically, there are a whole lot of activities going on - even more than you would be able to participate in. You would definitely enjoy it. It was short and sweet.
I went on the sky a year ago for a 3 day cruise with my then time girlfriend. We both really enjoyed the cruise. All 3 nights we ate at a specialty restaurant Cagneys and Le bistro I liked Le bistro was my surprising favorite. Only complaint was it was just too short.
