As far as I know the only show they charge for is the Cirque Dreams & Dinner - because it is a dinner show.
Here is a funny story, though. NCL took a group of us to the Cirque Dreams offices near Palm Beach and we all saw the Epic show and thought it was all good - but when we saw it on Epic it just fell flat - no one I was with liked it at all.
Now, one big difference was that we could not see as well on the ship as in the studio - another difference was that the ship renderings had made the ship "circus tent" look huge, but in real life it was tiny. When they strung up a "tightrope" it was a "sag-rope" literally, with the guy standing on it sagging from two points about 8 feet apart - not very impressive.
Anyway - I was actually surprised the show was kept for Breakaway, but it was. But they really jacked up the price from $10 and $15, to $29 and $39 (or something) for back row /premium seats.
Sorry, but I don't think that would be fair price for the show I show on board Epic. Maybe this one is way better, I don't know. Maybe the theater is bigger (it looks bigger on the floor plans but NCL told me it was the same size).
I dunno - but the price is for the dinner, not just the show, but I agree it is kind of a sneaky way to get you to pay for entertainment, especially when the food was not that good.
Anyway - getting to the actual pictures - is anyone surprised by how similar this looks to Epic - same carpet, same colors, very similar layout.
Now, I do really like the Waterfront, and I the 678 Ocean Place is an improvement, but I still have the brown carpet with the beige swirls (yuck), and you still HAVE to walk through the casino to cross the ship.
This is like an improved Epic, but some of the major problems are going to still exist - crowded shows & long lines, etc. Better make your reservations!
I did the cirque show on the Epic and it was much better than I expected. The food was not quite as good as in the other venues, but the staff did a great job of working around the show. Some of the performers would come down between the tables and the staff was easily able to work with them. I am booked on the Breakaway and have reservations for the cirque again.
Last weekend I had the chance for travelling a two nights trip with Norwegian Breakaway. Of course I took the chance to take many photos including panorama shots.
All in all ther are now about 700 photos from the Breakaway in my cruiseship-gallery.de: Norwegian Breakaway photos
I am still waiting for pics of the Cirque show. It was widely panned by the "critics" on board the Epic media cruise, so I wonder if they decided not to show it to the media on this ship. I was surprised they even chose to keep it.
On Epic the renderings made the "circus tent" appear huge. On the Breakaway deck plans they also make the circus tent appear huge, but I emailed NCL and they told me it is the same size on both ships (!?!)
So, I really want to know if they improved it or not.
I finally saw some pictures of the Cirque Tent on Breakaway and they made at least one improvement, they added a stage - however, what is weird is that I once reported that the Speigel tent on Breakaway is much bigger, but NCL contacted ma and said "no. they are the same size on both ships"
Looking at the deck plans - how can this be? Here is Epic...
And here is Breakaway:
Unless Epic is twice the size the room is bigger on Breakaway.
