Default NCL: Can my wife use my child's specialty dining perks?

Hi all, I am booking an balcony and inside cabin on the gem for my wife and I and our 2 kids. SInce the kids are underage we would have to split up 1 adult , 1 child per room. A question came up when it came to perks. We are choosing the ult beverage in each room but for our 2nd perk in balc, we want spec dining. The problem is that the dining would be assigned to me and my child (7 years old daughter). Obviously I want to use the spec dining for me and my wife. I cant get a straight answer from NCL, just a you could try suggestion. If anyone is familiar with the spec dining I hope you can give me some inside info. Can my wife use my daughters key to come to eat with me? I was told to request a seperate room key for my wife for our balcony room but doesnt each key include identifying codes/stickers etc? Would this work, how strict are they if I show up with my wife and she uses my daughters key?
PS: my travel agent said that once we are on board, the kids could simply sleep in the inside cabin - is that a problem?
