Default Marco polo to crusise terminal

We are sailing 10-10 venice to athens. We arrive at Marco Polo airport. The transfer with Oceania is $100 for 2 people. Is that a fair rate or can we arrange our own ground transportation for enough less to cancel the prearranged transfer. ? thanks

There's a ferry called alilaguna (check www.alilaguna.com) from the airport to the cruise berths. Price per person and way is about 7,50. Note that this transport lasts approximately 2 hours.

We're on the Oct 10 Venice to Ahtens sailing, too. We're thinking of doing the air deviation so we can get in early and do some sightseeing. Any ideas of where to stash our luggage while we do that?

Is it possible to get a car service from the airport to a hotel near San Marco or do you need to take a water taxi?

You can catch a Blue bus between the arrival&departure gates.
This goes to Piazzale Roma for 2.70 euros per person. It is
a 20 minute ride. You can then walk to Stazione Marittima in
about 10 to 15 minutes or take the #6 bus to the Marittima.
Also there should be taxis available at Piazzale Roma to the
Marittima, this is a two minute drive. The cruise terminal web
site(www.vtp.it) also states there is a free shuttle from Piazzale
Roma to the cruise ships on Sat.,Sun. and Mon.. I do not know
if this is accurate. Be sure you get the correct Blue bus for Piazzale
Rome. We are also on the 10/10 cruise. We do not have our air
schedule yet. Check out the web site for the terminal it has a good map of the
cruise terminal.

If you call Oceania, you can find out what air arrangements they have made for you. We were very disappointed that they had booked us on flights getting to Venice at 6PM, effectively costing us an entire day in Venice. I am presently working with the air deviation department to get earlier flights.

I finally got thru to Oceania after three days of being on hold for
10-15 minutes at a time. Our flights(tentative according to Oceania)
are great. Leave JFK at 5:55PM arrive in Venice at 11:40AM. Return flight
Athens 12:30PM direct to JFK at 4:05PM.

John,
What flight are you being booked on from JFK to Venice? We're flying Delta to Venice and we take a flight from JFK to Venice leaving at 7:45 p.m. and arriving at 9:55 a.m.

I think that John's flights from JFK to Venice involve a 2 hour 20 minute layover in Paris, while Joan is on a non-stop flight.

Joan: my husband and I also land in Venice at 9:55 AM. Would you be interested in sharing a limo to the ship?

Andee is right we have the 2 1/2 hour layover in Paris.
AirFrance flight 8991(Delta 16) code share to Paris.
Having the layover at CDG probably will be to our
advantage as CDG is not fun. Wish we could get the
direct, but these flights are OK with us especially the return.
We have been on many 24hr return itinerary flights from
Europe, bouncing all over the two continents.

Andee,
We're not on this cruise. We'll be on the May 9 Venice to Barcelona.

claudia. Do I understand you to say that the minivan you hired will take you to the marittima dock or ship without using another taxi or shuttle?
