Default Oceania - isn't it basically Renaissance?

Renaissance went out of business back in 2001 - so why is Oceania doing so great now? What's the big difference between the two companies?

I have been on both lines, and I didnt see a big difference. I am just wondering what you all think. I haven't been on Oceania for awhile.

Oceania improved the staterooms a great deal by adding nicer beds and other amenities, but essentially there is not that much difference.

But that is a good thing. I liked Renaissance and I like Oceania.

The only real difference is in the way they treat travel agents - which shouldn't matter much to regular cruisers.

The best thing about oceania is the great itineraries. There is a Holy lands cruise that spends the days in Israel and two days in Egypt i would just love to do.

The new ship is the MARINA and according to bookings this week from past passenger they are already 50% BOOKED for the first 5 cruises.

I never sailed Ren so cannot comment on them but we do love Oceania for several reasons

I saw in another sight that it goes on sale on Monday, so how could it already be 50% booked? I am sure there is a good reason, but thre article doesn't say what it is.
