Default Paul Ryan

This is only the second time since 1900 that a presidential candidate named his running mate this early .The previous was John Kerry naming John Edwards .

With Romney and Ryan as a ticket I am considering voting for Lynn Stein . Unfortunately Kelly K is not of age to be a candidate .

I am glad for the pick. I just hope they can let us know what they plan, as a preview, instead of having to spend all their time on fighting all the trash from the other side.

Henry, Who is Lynn Stein? I guess I need to Google her, or him.

All seriousness aside, Paul Ryan is a tremendous pick for the Democratic Party.

It's hard to imagine Mitt Romney picking a more extremist running mate.

You know, there was a time not so long ago, when we all generally got along. When we had common goals, and though we may have had different ideas how to get there, we worked together to accomplish our common objectives.

And somewhere along the way, something has gone seriously wrong…...

Somewhere between there and here, we’ve become more divided than at any time since before the Civil War.

I remember a Wednesday morning when I was driving to work, and there was a young lady standing on the highway on-ramp waving a gigantic American flag. I had never seen anything like this before in my entire life.

That Wednesday morning was 12 September 2001...........

As of 12 August 2012, the United States Congress’s approval rating is 9%, lagging behind several celebrities currently in rehab.

In our polarized political environment, it’s hard to imagine our elected officials coming together to get anything done. Of course, getting things done is what I always thought they got paid for…….

One day perhaps we’ll decide to get along. One day we’ll decide that we have more in common than we don’t.

One day we’ll decide that our nation is more important than any of our differences…….

On that day, maybe that young lady will wave her flag again on that highway on-ramp…..

They are Doug, and it's a shame. We need to know what they are going to do, and not what they think of the other side.

M comment has far more to do with comon sense and the Constitution than about politics; candidates or their parties.

I haver two very major concerns.

1. This country went two full years without a budget (as required by the Constitution) when one party controlled not one but both houses of congress.

2. Our President not only ran on a platform but actively stated countless times that probably the greatest problem with the Federal Government was that it was not in the least transparent. I was truly was actually thrilled with all of that.

Bingo, the most important legislation that was passed under his Administration was not only not transparent, it was all conducted, discussed and passed behind locked doors.

He had the entire world and the especially the overhwelming part of this country in his corner. He instantly lost both.

Will the Republicans be any better? Who knows? But at least they deserve the opportunity as we know how "the other half lives."

The Ryan plan says "If you are over the age of 55, your plan will not change." " In a few years, those under 55 will be given money to pay for your own health care." This will save Medicare, not kill it, and no granny's over the cliff. If you want to read Ryan's plan, Google it. It is on line.

Romney plan would be great for the multi-millionaires.

Since I am not a millionaire, I won't be voting for him.

Don't worry Manuel, if you actually read the bill as passed and signed into law, there is so much pork in it that you needn't worry about millionaires, there won't be any. As for the rest of us, wait until you get your 2013 tax bill before you make any decisions. Are you familiar with the term, "Going ballistic?"

Luanne... and where will that money come from?.. the government? Where will they have to go to get the money? You.

Thus, whoever wins will have the same problem... where to get the money to advance anything.

The problem is there are something like 47% of the US population who are Republicans, and 47% of the United States population who are Democrats. And both those groups will believe whatever "their side of the aisle" tells them.

To make it worse, both sides of the aisle lie lie lie at every turn. They know their supporters are just going believe them, but the goal is.... hoping the small percentage of people in between (the independants) will decide to listen to their lies rather than their opponents lies.

Sadly, no one's goals are really to improve the country. They sole goal is to assure they are the ones with the power.

To achieve that power politicians make lots of promises to BIG MONEY, and then they are obliged to those donors.

Something like $1.8 BILLION is going to be wind up being spent just to get someone that power. I'd think that alone should be enough clue for everyone who thinks about it to realize the absurdity of the upcoming "election".

The really sad thing it's all actually a slap in the face, to your husband, and all other members of the armed services and veterans, who fought for "freedom".

I'm betting when this is all said and done actuaries will have a ball figuring out the actual cost of each vote.

I am totally convinced that if the Republicans ran a monkey as their candidate, and the Democrats ran a chimpanzee, millions would still vote, and the vote would still be totally polarized.

There will be plenty of millionaires but the middle class will disappear.

In my opinion we need to stop just putting band aids on everything. People seem to forget how bad things were before Obama took office. My analogy is if your house is really messed up let’s say by an earthquake should you just fix it up or should you tear it down and lay a new foundation? If you throw some drywall and paint on it sure it’s going to look good for a little while but the foundation is still going to stink.
So who’s really the blame for our problems Democrats or Republicans….I would say both. I think Obama should be given another term and see what he can do and is this coming from a true republican of the past, now I don’t believe in either party but just party!! (just having a little fun)

Obama has already had one term and has made things worse. Why give him another to screw up things even more? When people mention the millionares whom they believe don't pay enough taxes, why don't they mention the 50% of all Americans who pay NO income taxes?

The social security program has to change. If it doesn't, there will be no money to pay those presently under 55 when they retire.
