Default The Debt Commission

When Obama established a Debt Commission th study and make recommendations to solve our fiscal problems, I was somewhat optmistic.
If Obama had even attemped to implement their recommendations, I would be first in line to cast my vote for him. Unfortunately, he has cast himself in the mold of Jimmy Carter, the worst president in my memory.

Sorry, I don't. If you Google the Simpson Boles Commission, you would be able to find the recommendations. It was bi-partisan and recommended a lot of cuts in spending and some tax increases.

In a nutshell:

The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform (Simpson-Bowles) couldn't reach agreement on recommendations.

A supermajority of 14 votes in the affirmative was needed to formally endorse the blueprint, which failed, on only 11 votes in the affirmative.

(As a point of interest only, Paul Ryan, a member of the commision, cast 1 of the votes in the negative.)

Okay thanks. I know that is what will effect the military.

Paul, Do you have a good web site that is Obama saying what he plans to do if we wins? All I can find is what he says about Rommney.

Please don't suggest the Gov web site, I don't want to flooded with his begging for money.

Thanks

FYI Simpson was on tv this afternoon. He was one of the ones who investagated AARP Wow they are rolling in dough. He said the office they rent cost 17 million and he was not allowed to get inside because they were so busy. They also support Obama, but that makes sense since they are an insurance company, with benefits.

Okay I found it. Some of it was good, but would have hurt us in several ways.

Now without it, we get hurt anyway.

I think next time Obama needs to get a bad guy, he can really go after them, and the military can say they got them. It's much safer that way.

Simpson Bowles commission, though there may have been some portions talking about the military, has nothing to do with the "sequestration" that was voted on and agreed to by the house and senate (which would include all the military budget cuts).

Think you are confusing the two Luanne.

Not hard, because there is so much misinformation, and so much distortion of the truth by politicians, and media (print, online, and television) that it's hard to find the truth.

What's most obvious watching all these discussions it that so many people just believe the distortions that support the views they have anyway, and ignore any discussions to the contrary.

Thank you Kuki. I am seriously trying to understand, and not put out bad info.

I hope that all will do the same.

Do you know a good source for sequestration, that I can read and try to understand?

Thanks

http://democrats.budget.house.gov/si...uestration.pdf

This perhaps explains some of the basics of it, and at least how the idea even came up.

Kind of dumb of all concerned to vote on something that says... if we can't agree later, this will take affect, and no one, on either side, is going to like it.

Get your "stuff" together and find a way to agree in the first place. After all, agreeing to "sequestration" means you all really "want" to agree to saving, and cutting the deficit.
