Default Why I liked Hillary Better

I really feel for Hillary....

She is one of the smartest politicians out there, and her heart is in the right place - yet she has been screwed more than anyone, except maybe John McCain.

Here is what I like about Hillary - I feel that if she had been the President instead if Obama we would probably be far better off by now and she would likely have been re-elected.

In retrospect - maybe she should have run against Obama the way Teddy Kennedy did against Jimmy Carter.

(I know I am talking like it is over, but that is pretty much what Democratic strategist Bob Beckel said today - the election is over - Still some 19 days away.)

A conservative dude like you would be bashing a democrat no matter what.
If that candidate was a woman the bashing would probably be even stronger.

That's just the way politics are, you build up your candidate and bash the opponent.

The truth ( which is rare in politics ) is somewhere in the middle.

I liked Hillary better to. I base a lot on what I know about the person. I knew about Hillary. I knew she would have done a good job, or at least I thought so.

I feel for her. I have heard that She and Bill will run in 16, and I'm afraid these 4 years might bit her. I wonder if sometimes she wonders what the heck she was thinking.

It is a given that President Obama will be reelected.

In 2016, I'd have no problem voting for Bill Clinton. Life was good under his administration and continued for a while after until that idiot Bush messed things up good.

quote zydecocruiser "In 2016, I'd have no problem voting for Bill Clinton. Life was good under his administration and continued for a while after until that idiot Bush messed things up good."

Thats my problem with Romney in a nutshell: People with severe religious convictions (like W. Bush) cannot for the life of them separate what THEY believe from what is best for the country.

less seriously: Is R-Money related to R-Truth? They could form a tag-team and lay the smack-down on our candy @sses for sure then.

Romney could wear his magic underwear (with a mask and cape).

Mo Money, mo problems.

See - here is the problem. You assume that you know how I think when it comes to politics, but in fact what you just said to me was extremely rude. I just said I LIKE HILLARY - so you have no reason or right to put words in my mouth saying exactly the opposite of what I just said.

For the record, I was sincere, and I still recall Tina Fey working hard on SNL to say "hey, I know he's black, but electing the first woman would be cool, too." I agreed with her.

And to be clear - what you just did is exactly what I consider to be one of the biggest failures of the democratic strategy -- characterizing conservatives as "stupid, close minded, selfish," etc. The more you do that, the more regular people look at the party and think "I don't like the way these people talk" and then they see why Obama was unable to get anything at all accomplished with Congress.

Clinton and Reagan were both famous for what they could accomplish with the opposing party. But Obama is (1) a denier of responsibility for every failure he has ever had and (2) a blamer for every problem he has.

Hey, news scoop Mr Obama and all of his supporters. We don't care. You promised us you could fix it and you didn't. We have no reason to think the next four years will be any different, and at this point there is no harm in trying something new.

Hey, I see things getting better now - but it wasn't because of the stimulus, the GM bailout, the passing of ObamaCare or new regulations, it is in spite of all those things (they all happened in the first two years). Recovery is what always happens after recessions - but this one is way overdue.

I could go on, but I won't. I will just say that there are a LOT of people who are ready to get beyond having the left dominate the divisive political rhetoric in the country. There is a reason why Fox News is now more popular than ever and MSNBC less than ever.

It is about comments like that have killed your party. Criticize my candidate's policies, but don't criticize or presume you know me. I am not racist, misogynist, reactionary or selfish and unless you have proof to the contrary about ME personally keep your presumptions about me to yourself.

I've never cared for either Clinton, but as a conservative I will say that I'd much prefer either of them as president right now, as opposed to the current occupant.

I hope Mrs. Clinton will be on hand on Monday to advise Obama about foreign affairs. She's the one who did all the hard work. He played a lot of golf.

I just stated an opinion. I was not trying to be rude. I did not say say anyone was stupid, close minded or selfish.

By agreeing to be thrown under the bus, so to speak, about the Libyan tragedy, may have cost her any chance to run for the top of the ticket herself. But then, Americans' memories are somewhat short nowadays. So sad but true.

By the next election she might not want to run at all. Age does catch up with you.

I do consider that. That is my biggest problem with Ron Paul. He would have been 77 when he took office. Uugghh!

I have nothing but respect for older people. After all I am not that young myself. But with a country of over three hundred million people, I don't think that we need anyone over 70 to run for president.

The younger people need to get more involved. At my age, I'm all set, but the younger generations will have some difficult times ahead. I have a son and two daughters and I worry about their future.
