That was a good comeback. It had me grinning!

Well, once again leave it to one of those wacky Canadians to put things into perspective.

I totally understand what Paul is trying to do and agree.

The problem here is that Paul keeps posting stuff like this thread:

http://www.cruisemates.com/forum/ope...ml#post1459660

Which in essence is calling the President I voted for a liar.

How is that any different or worse than calling a public figure a fool?

If you make the rules, you need to stick to them yourself or the rest of us will not respect what you say. Simple as that.

Again, it's a reality thing.

I'm speechless.

Okay - let me try again.... my concern is pejorative and cruel words like "moron, stupid" and similar that are associated specifically with name calling. Yes, I have slipped myself, but I am trying to restore the civility.

"And stop getting hung up on the name of the board", Wow, that puts a whole new light on things. We were all drawn to this site because of the name CRUISEMATES. That explains why there is so much encouraged discussion on non cruising topics.
I was referring to the name of the message board "Open Debate" - not CruiseMates. People kept saying "it's called open debate" and I said "yes, but it still has rules. The word 'open' only applies to the topics politics and religion."
