Default Embeded tracking chips may be next step

Why is it so difficult to determine Snowden's whereabouts? Well the FBI thinks he is in Russia. Didn't they have a tail on him in Hong Kong?

The FBI is looking like a bunch or fools or is it the CIA or is it the NSA. Reminds me of the Abbott and Costello "Who's on First routine." Which group is keeping track of him and why aren't they tracking his phone calls and emails if they are so good.

What really bothers me is the guy is basically a criminal. A trial could be held in abstentia and he could be convicted. This would make it possible for the government to kidnap him to bring him to justice.

I'll bet the next step is for the Obama administration to demand embedded tracking chips in all US citizens so that the government can keep track of them.
It will be part of the Obamacare package.

Well, think we're getting pretty far fetched here. Not like people would line up to get chips because the administration told them to.

Heck, he can't even get them to turn in their AR 15s.

I wonder what BonnyPrinceCharlie would think about it.

I wouldn't assume something based on press reports that portray this as a 'who's on first' scenario. They know where he is. The international relations ramifications are such that they just can't grab him like a bunch of bounty hunters.

I also wouldn't assume the Chinese, Russians, etc., didn't know about the NSA project and were only clued in when Snowden went public.

As if Russia, China, etc don't have the same programs. He can run but he can't hide (without help).

Besides, I fear no chip. I've got nothing to hide. The problem is, they are obsolete before you start embedding them. As dependent as some are on technology, much easier to track their credit cards, bank accounts, cell phones, etc.

People can drop off the grid but most have a hard time staying there.

Your passport can already be read "remotely". RFID. You can be read in a room full of people. It no longer needs to be run the the machine like a credit card.

The Feds waited too long to "revoke" his passport. He was able to book and travel lawfully up to the point they revoked it and the revocation was made system/worldwide.

It is entirely possible he is traveling on a bogus passport anyway.

I am glad he spilled the beans about what the NSA is up to. I hope that he can find somewhere peaceful to live out his life. It is sad that he is being treated like a traitor over this.
